Glam-rock band Kiss has been removed from the bill of the Michael Jackson tribute concert after concerns were raised by fans about the attitude of Gene Simmons towards the late King of Pop.
Jackson's fans are up in arms because of remarks Kiss frontman Simmons has made in interviews since Jackson's death.
He told Classic Rock magazine in 2010: "Well, you
know, where there’s smoke there's fire. There's no question in my mind
he molested those kids. Not a doubt."
Simmons went on to say: "The only sexual references ever made about Michael Jackson that were made by anyone, anywhere around the world, have always been
made by kids, and specifically males usually 10 to 14 years of age –
never females that age or older, and never grown men."
Jackson's estate said it was 'extraordinarily embarrassing' that Kiss had been booked for the show, Michael Forever – to be held at Millenium Stadium in Cardiff.
