Lady Gaga appears topless as Yuyi the Mermaid and as her rockabilly male alter-ego Joe Calderone in You And I, a video even her fans don't pretend to understand.
The premise of Gaga’s You And I is that it’s torture of being away from the person you love.

The singer released the video yesterday, tweeting: “You must love all + every part of me, as must I, for this complex + incomprehensible force to be true."
You and I sees Gaga walking with bleeding feet across America, from New York to Nebraska, to be with her man.

In other scenes, Gaga appears as a mermaid, thrashing around in a bath as a buff man pours water onto her tail.
There’s also a scene in which Gaga dresses once again as Joe Calderone, her male alter-ego, and sits on a piano in the middle of corn fields as a super-feminine, blonde version of herself plays the piano.
Gaga plays Joe as a snarling, 50s rockabilly, puffing a roll-up, spitting tobacco and smashing beer bottles.

Some mild S&M action comes in the form of Gaga being strapped to a board as a shirtless man squirts something into her mouth, injects something into her neck and gives her an electric shock.
All does not end well in Gaga’s dramatic You And I video, however, and despite suffering bleeding feet as she walks to Nebraska to find her love, the singer winds up dead.
Gaga shot the video in Nebraska and said it is about the pain of being apart from the one you love.
"The idea that when you're away from someone you love, it's torture," Gaga told an Omaha radio station.
"I knew I wanted the video to be about me sprinting back and walking hundreds of thousands of miles to get him back."

Apparently, Gaga’s friend Luc Carl, inspired You And I.
"It was so sweet, and I looked out and it's so beautiful, that tall corn. … Then all of a sudden you start to see these monsters pop up," she said of Nebraska.
"I love this place so much, and it really comes from a genuine place. The person who I wrote this song about has been my buddy and my best friend since I was 19 years old, and he's from here."
“I have absolutely noooo idea what's going on in this video…” wrote annieluuser on Youtube.
“this video is just plain weird………………but i wouldn't expect anything less…………fucking love u gaga and all the lil monsters……paws up” says heatemypopheart.
