Thompson, 29 worked on the genius proposal for two-and-a-half days, taking more than 2600 photos of the Lego couple.

The finished film features recreated scenes of the couple’s love story, from how they first met to the present day.

The attention to detail is astounding, with the Lego couple even wearing Lego clothing to match the outfits the couple wore when they met.

Walt, from Atlanta in Georgia, even created a little Lego chef, as his 28-year-old girlfriend is a food writer and blogger.

The three-minute footage culminates with the Lego groom standing at the altar holding a giant diamond ring as his Lego bride walks down an aisle lined with bizarre characters including Star Wars figures.

The words ‘Will You Marry Me?’ the roll across the screen.

Nealy said she didn’t suspect a thing, adding “He claimed to be working on an anniversary poem, which didn’t raise any flags because he writes me one every year.

“He directed me to the DVD player and told me to press play.

“He then came to stand behind me, and within seconds I could feel the loud thumping of his heart and his quivering hands as they grabbed for mine.

“It was only then that I realized this was no anniversary poem.”

Of course, Nealy got a ring of her own after watching the video. Thompson presented her with a box of the two Lego characters, the groom holding the real engagement ring.

The couple now plan to marry in Spring 2013.
