Reports that the famed and mysterious Loch Ness monster is planning to take a long trip down south to the Thames on the weekend of October 15 – coincidentally at the same time as the TNT Sun and Snow Travel Show, taking place at the QEII Centre in Westminster – were slammed as 'possibly untrue' today.
A source close to the semi-mythical beast said 'Nessie enjoys a wee dram and after some Scotch courage he's partial to travel from loch to loch in the late summer, when the mood takes him'.
The dubious report was in no way connected to Scottish travel firm Wild in Scotland who are offering 50 per cent off tours booked at the TNT Sun and Snow Travel Show.
Other sources, unavailable for comment, who are also planning on offering special discounts during the event are:
Med Sailors – 30% off trips booked at the show
Fez Travel – 20% off trips booked at the show
Smart City Hostels – 25% off its Unlimited Voucher
Encounters Travel – 15% off all trips booked at the show
Spaceships Campervans – 10% off all vehicle hire booked at the show
China Airlines – £50 of John Lewis vouchers with every booking made at the show.
A number of high-spec waterproof Olympus cameras are also up for grabs for travel show attendees on the day, who are advised to look out for the TNT photographer to take part in a competition. The cameras may come in handy when attempting to capture long-distance images of prehistoric amphibious dinosaurs in Scottish lakes.
