Threadneedle Bar launches cocktails inspired by Theo Fennell jewellery
Not ready to let go of the sparkle of Christmas, the team at Threadneedle Bar has announced a New Year collaboration with Theo Fennell to celebrate Theo Fennell’s latest jewellery creations. Bar manager Sebastian Kasyna has created three bespoke cocktails drawing on these beautiful pieces of jewellery and the glamourous surroundings of The Royal Exchange for inspiration.  

Green Bar Botanicals & Tonics at Cafe Royal
Cafe Royal has launched Green Bar Botanicals & Tonics, a distinctive new gin bar celebrating London’s history of using botanicals in gin production and mixology, as well as the various styles in which gin is served internationally. Created by the bar’s expert mixologists, the new Gin Journey menu features interesting takes on the favoured gin and tonic cocktail, made from a wide range of gins, uniquely paired with tonics and garnishes from all around the world. Standouts include Dodd’s Gin with Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic, fresh chillies and lemon peel; and Portobello Road No.171 with Fever Tree Indian Tonic, blood orange and rosemary.

Late Nights at Dirty Bones

Celebrate the end of dry January with new late night opening hours, playful cocktails and live DJ sets at Dirty Bones restaurants in Soho and Kensington. The old skool funk, soul and classic hip-hop tunes now keep playing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, with the Dirty Bones resident DJs playing musical mash-ups and bumpin’ beats live on the decks from 9pm until late. Cocktails include the Mutt’s Nuts (Woodford Reserve, cinnamon and vanilla infused maple syrup, Angostura bitters, lemon and apple juice) and Top Dog (Finlandia Vodka, fresh strawberry, Chambord, lemon, Jeio Prosecco), with the Dirty Flatliner (Bolt and Boiler Maker shooters) designed to keep you partying all night.

Parisian bistro Blanchette has created a delicious Buccaneer punch, priced at £6, as well as a selection of after dinner cocktails including Blanchette Caf, Dinner after 8 and Orange Bliss. Get back on the booze the Caribbean way, with all-new rum cocktails at Big Easy’s dedicated Rum Bar & Lounge. Guests can choose from the Black Pearl – the love-child of a Champagne Cocktail and a lava lamp, with Bacardi 8 year old rum, sugar, Champagne, and Kahlua infused ‘black pearls’; the Boston Tea Party (made with pomegranate tea, Plantation 3 Star rum, Balthazar Rose Vermouth and coffee bean infused ginger bitters) or the Fire & Ice which combines Gosling’s 151, Bacardi spiced rum, LBV Port, Benedictine and freshly squeezed lime juice, made in heated tins before being set alight and thrown in the air!
