29 year-old Ukrainian Dan Motrescu has been charged after a man was seen to mount the statue of Prince George on horseback, removed his clothes and performed a series of death defying balancing acts on the head of the statue. He was coaxed down from his perch after around 3 hours.
Police cordoned off a 100-metre area of Whitehall as there were rumours the acrobatic exhibitionist, who didn’t appear to be bothered by the chilly weather, was in possession of a knife.
Motrescu will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today.
