The SMH reports Jupiter Ascending by the Matrix makers would have had a $200 million budget and employed 2000 people, but the high dollar value and government policy have seen Sydney’s loss become London’s gain.

The Aussie film industry isn’t happy, but the gossip mags will be fuming – the film will star Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum.

All up the government gave $12.8 million to The Wolverine when they essentially bumped the usual 16.5 per cent location offset rebate to 30 per cent for Aussie superstar Jackman’s star vehicle.

But other productions aren’t getting the same deal so are heading elsewhere.

There is no major Hollywood production set for Australia this coming year.
