Man United legend Paul Scholes plans to retire with a premiership at season’s end

Scholes, 38, will be aiming to wrap his decorated career – 10 Premier League crowns, two European Cups and three FA Cups – with another Premiership in the summer.

He retired after the 2010-11 season with a record 19^th Premier League title and went on to coach the Red Devils reserves side, but after missing being on the park he put his hand up for first team honours again.

United missed out on last season’s title on goal difference to Manchester City.

While he’s only started seven games this year, he’s been a valuable asset to Alex Ferguson when he needed to bring some experience into his midfield.

Ryan Giggs, 39, has made seven starts this year too and is also tipped to call it a day.

Scholes has appeared 710 times for United since he debuted in a League Cup match in 1994.
