In a statement they said, “Police investigating the deaths of a woman and her three children in the state’s south have located a man’s body in a dam on the family’s property.

“About 3pm yesterday (Tuesday 9 September 2014), police were called to a rural property on Boree Creek Road, about 13km north-west of Lockhart,” the statement continued.

“Inside the house, officers located the bodies of three children. On a path at the rear of the house, they located the body of a woman.”

While the bodies are yet to be formally identified, it is believed they are 41-year-old Kim Hunt and her three children – 10-year-old Fletcher, eight-year-old Mia and six-year-old Phoebe.

The body of the man is also yet to be identified however police have discontinued the search for Mrs Hunt’s husband, Geoff.

News.com.au reported that a suicide note was found in a ute that was left abandoned by the side of the dam where the man’s body was found.
