Montreal in 2-3 days

Day 1

Start with a walk around the atmospheric streets of Old Montreal then wander down to the harbour. The Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History is worth a look, or opt for a boat trip along the St Lawrence River. Alternatively, hire a bike or rollerblades and zoom along the bike path that follows the river and the Lachine Canal. After this, head underground. There are entrances all over Montreal to the Underground City – the 33km worth of interconnected passageways full of shops and eateries.

Day 2

Start with a walk up the Parc du Mont Royal (Mount Royal Park) where the Kondiaronk lookout has great views over Montreal. Then have a wander through the vibrant, funky Plateau neighbourhood, then down to the also vibrant and funky Latin Quarter.

Day 3

Head out to the Olympic Park, where there are great views over Montreal. The botanic gardens are just next door, or head back to the downtown area. There’s great shopping on the Rue St Catherine, while the Museum of Fine Arts (Musee Des Beaux Arts) is worth checking out.
