Moonlight Cinema, which runs until March nationwide is one of our favourite events of the year.
Based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, Moonlight sets up in scenic spots under the stars and shows a mixture of classic films and new releases almost every night.

Even more spectacular, even if, at $33-plus, a little pricier, is St George Open Air Cinema operating from January 10 until February 15 in Sydney.
It’s hard to imagine a cinema with a better, although maybe a tad distracting, view. The screen literally rises from an inflatable on Sydney Harbour each evening, with the Harbour Bridge in the background. Tickets sell fast, but there are some on the gate each night.
