The buzz so far This 22-year-old Toronto native noise-and-beats maker (aka Aaron Stern) boasts a low-fi, genre-pilfering mash-up of sounds and attitudes.
Debut Lesser Evil is influenced by his transient lifestyle – he’s lived in Montreal, New York and Baltimore, putting on parties and DJ-ing.
“You need to be able to adapt to any setting – a dance club, a rock band, a kitchen, an art space,” he says.
Pieced together on a smashed-up Macbook, Evil’s samples, beats and electronica is a diverse statement of intent.
