Stiletto brothel in Sydney, which describes itself as “the world’s finest short-stay boutique hotel and Sydney brothel”, is planning a $12 million Aussie dollars expansion according to AFP which will make it Australia’s largest brothel.

Prostitution in brothels is legal is some parts of the country – including Queensland and New South Wales. However, in South Australia and the Northern Territories it remains illegal.

Sydney planning officer Susan O’Neill said that moral objections were ‘not relevant’ to the issue of planning “The issue of a moral objection to the nature of the activities of a sex premises were raised by some of the public submissions and resident objectors.

“As a sex premises is a legal land use and permissible… with consent, moral objections to the proposal are not relevant considerations.”

Stilettos in Sydney is open 24-hours-a-day throughout the year (except Christmas Day) with a standard hourly rate for punters at Aus$370 including room, lady of choice and drinks. The brothel’s owners have claimed that celebrity and top sports stars clients are regular clients.

Inspectors have given the premises the dubious honour of being “acceptable and better than most”.
