According to several news reports, the Fight Club, Snatch, Se7en and Twelve Monkeys star was signing autographs when the Ukrainian prankster Vitalii Sediuk jumped the security barriers in front of the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, approached him on the red carpet, and then allegedly struck the 50-year-old actor in the face.
The Sediuk was wrestled to the floor by bodyguards before being led away in handcuffs by police.
The Ukrainian has made a bit of a wally of himself at recent red carpet events, hugging Bradley Cooper’s crotch at the SAG awards in January and more recently crawling under the skirt of Ugly Betty actress America Ferrera at the Cannes Film Festival.
