Reading Festival is nearly upon us and a series of secret DJ sets have been announced, which you’ll only catch by following @ActionAid_Team on Twitter or looking out for the hashtag #actionaidtent.
Bollocks to Poverty, the youth arm of anti-poverty charity ActionAid, is staging the hush-hush performances in their tent at Reading Festival. So far, sets from Enter Shikari, Bombay Bicycle Club and Simian Mobile Disco and compére Huw Stephens have been confirmed.
This will be the 10th year that ActionAid has made its presence felt at Reading Festival. Each year the charity has asked the Reading masses to
campaign on an issue that is a driving force behind poverty and
injustice.
A spokesperson said: “This year we wanted to treat Reading goers to something really special.
“I don’t want to big it up too much or we might have to close the tent! My tip to fans is to keep popping by the ActionAid tent or look out for clues on Twitter.”
Radio One DJ Huw Stephens is already involved in ActionAid projects. Earlier this year he visited some of the charity’s urban projects in Kenya and was so overwhelmed he came back and immediately sponsored a child.
