Rebecca Black’s train wreck song ‘Friday’ is creeping its way up the list of most watched YouTube videos of all time. In just a week and a half, the debut single jumped from 3,000 views to 33.5 million, leaving some wondering if it will dethrone Justin Bieber’s video for “Baby,” which, at 495 million, currently holds title for most watchedYouTube video of all time.

Black’s video has already surpassed pop princess Lady Gaga and her sci-fi video promo for Born This Way, which claims 22 million views.

Friday cost a total of $2,000 (£1,250) to produce and has already generated well over $1m in iTunes sales, according to Forbes.

The teenage pop anthem gained momentum when it was branded “Worst Song Ever” by the internet community, but thirteen-year-old Black hasn’t backed down.

Rebecca Black’s ‘worst song’ Friday

In an interview with Good Morning America, Black said, “I think I have talent on some level, I don’t think I’m the worst singer, but I don’t think I’m the best singer.”

The aspiring pop star has even released an acoustic version of the song to prove her singing flare, although there’s not much she can do to excuse lyrics like “Yesterday was Thursday / Today is Friday … Tomorrow is Saturday / And Sunday comes afterwards.”

Now feast your ears on Death Metal Friday.
