Overview The Bottle Beach location is ridiculously pretty – you’re guaranteed all the serene, purple-pink sunsets and lapping waves you can handle – but you don’t have to miss out on any of the party action, as the resort can arrange transport to and from the Haad Rin full moon parties on the other side of the island.

They can also arrange boat trips to nearby islands, snorkeling, massages, yoga and all sorts of other activities. No matter what you do, eat or drink here, it’s impossible to spend more than a few quid.

Wow factor The staff here like to party as hard as the tourists, so stick around the bar in the evenings and before you know it you’ll be roped into one of their late-night rum sessions, probably accompanied by some drunken acoustic guitar strumming.

Rooms Detached bungalows, which are dotted about in the garden or closer to the sand, come with far more mod cons then you’d imagine from a Thai beach hut – includes TV, hot water and fresh towels.

Bill, please A garden deluxe room (sleeps two) costs £25pn.
