Located in West Hampstead and brought to you by the guys behind Coin Laundry, Bobby Fitzpatrick is a special place where rum, pizza and cocktails are the order of the day.

Stepping inside your instantly transported to the 70’s, think shag pile carpets, a signed photo of Kate Bush and authentic pink blush toilets. The space itself is divided into different homely rooms: ‘the kitchen’, ‘the lounge’, ‘the dining area’ and the ‘living-room’ – it’s unapologetically retro.

The food on offer is 70’s style sustenance. I tried chicken nuggets accompanied by a tangy BBQ sauce to start, followed by a chicken tikka and caramelised onion deep crust American pizza. It’s proper soakage food.

If you don’t fancy pizza you can try Bobby’s signature burger with a Red Leicester middle. Although I was tempted, I didn’t try anything from the dessert menu, which included options such as: mini doughnuts and a banana pie.

Drinks-wise I tried Sexy Ting (Olmeca tequila, lime, ting syrup, fire) tangy and complete with flamingo stirrer – they knew I was coming.

That was followed by Sanford University (Absolut vodka, bitters, lime, cherry cola reduction) which was delightfully sweet and the cherry cola came in a mini bottle so you could pour it in.

I ended the evening on a high with Enrique the 5th (Vida mescal, Aperol, pineapple, absinthe, egg white) small but potent. If you’re looking for me, I’ll be in ‘the kitchen’ talking to Bobby.
