A $10,000 reward has been offered for the return of a haul of costumes stolen from a car parked in Auckland.

An array of 30 Mexican-themed shop uniforms, cocktail dresses and suits were taken from a blue station wagon parked in Mt Eden last night, Newstalk ZB reported.

The costumes were to be used in a five-day television ad shoot, which has since been put on hold.

The delay in shooting is set to cost the production company, The Sweat, $70,000 a day.

The Sweat spokesman Tony Whyman said he was offering a reward of $10,000 for the safe return of the costumes, which he said were worth about $5000.
