The market has teamed up with Models of Diversity (MoD) – well-known campaigners for greater diversity in the fashion industry – to host the one off event which will showcase the wide-ranging variety within the market and its many vintage fabrics, clothes and accessories.
The catwalk shows will be opened by the two winners from the recent ‘The Face of Shepherds Bush Market’ competition (held on 12 September) to become models for the event. They will be joined by Celebrity Big Brother’s Gail Porter and Sandi Bogle (of Gogglebox fame), along with a selection of models representing Models of Diversity. As they take to the runway, Stedman Pearson, from 80s pop group Five Star, will also be singing his new single ‘I Love You More’.
The fashion show event will take place between 2pm and 3.30pm and will be open to the public to attend. It will be held in the New Market Area of Shepherds Bush Market – most easily accessed from the Uxbridge Road end of the market – which has been famous for its unique fabric and fashion since it opened almost 100 years ago.
