The annual London Mime Festival brings a little creativity, wonder and novelty to your January featuring a wealth of global stars who use a variety of performance art forms – including circus, extreme dance, physical imagery, fairground commedia and exotic Japanese puppetry – in their storytelling performances.
There is a wealth of performances across the month, but the one this week that has caught our eye is undoubtedly 4 x 4:Ephemeral Architecture (Jan 13-15).
It’s kinda juggling but with a pretty big difference to the image that probably springs to mind first. Juggling gang Gandini take this specific of circus acts not just to the next level, but they pick up the next level and all the associated ‘rules’ and throw both into the air too amidst all the other items they’re juggling, and without so much as missing a beat. This new show ‘is a meeting between ballet, juggling and live classical music’, they say. We say, we’re very excited indeed, thank you very much.
