Stylist magazine has announced the launch of brand new event Stylist Live, a four day urban festival featuring a line up full of inspirational speakers, expert demonstrations and catwalk shows.

Taking place 15-18 October at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, the event features cutting-edge conversations, trend talks, industry advice and an amazing selection of gourmet street food and cocktails.

Edith Bowman and Dawn O’Porter will be the hosts, and joining them are speakers including Nigella Lawson, Katie Piper, Caitlin Moran, Lorraine Pascale and make-up vloggers Sam & Nic Chapman (otherwise known as Pixiwoo) who will be talking on the Stylist Inspires stage.

From the world of food, Stylist Live will feature workshops from hugely popular London eateries such as Duck & Waffle, Sushi Samba, Morito, ROKA, Daylesford Organics and The Detox Kitchen in an area of the event dubbed the Learning Labs. There will also be the opportunity to discover how to make Mexican tapas with Thomasina Miers of Wahaca, a wine-tasting masterclass with Corney & Barrow and international bestselling authors Hemsley + Hemsley will demonstrate how to prepare easy and nutritious, home-cooked food. 

The Learning Labs line up also boasts a series of practical workshops and tutorials on subjects such as How to Get Your Fashion Business off the Ground, How To Start A Supper Club hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Alice Levine and Laura Jackson and How to Write your First Novel.

Fans of the arts will not be disappointed, as Stylist Live will have a special Culture Lounge where ticket-holders can enjoy a special acoustic performance from Laura Mvula, stand-up comedy by Luisa Omielan and Diane Morgan, and topical debates and discussions on modern issues including Feminism: Where Now? hosted by radio DJ Gemma Cairney and The Social Media Revolutionarieswith Change.org creator Brie Lawson, activist Caroline Criado Perez and No More Page 3’s founder Lucy-Anne Holmes.   

Stylist’s own team of experts will of course be on hand, giving advice on everything from getting into journalism to the A/W15 trends to look out for this year. Attendees can get a taste for all these looks first hand at the Stylist Catwalk shows, supported by Swarovski.

Ticket-holders can also shop at 100 boutiques on the designated shopping floor and visit pop-up restaurants including Shoreditch Grind, Lima Floral and Delancey & Co at Stylist Live’s Feast Street.
