Taylor Swift has been voted entertainer of the year at the Academy of Country Music awards.
21-year-old Swift said: “The fact that this is from the fans makes it so special.”
Swift beat Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Jason Alden and Toby Keith to scoop the accolade.
Miranda Lambert was the biggest winner of the night, scooping awards for best single, song and video for The House that Built Me.
Singer Brad Paisley was awarded the gong for top male vocalist for the fifth year in a row.
“This is way too much for me,” he said as he collected his award. “I don’t know who got paid what.”
Performers at the star-studded Las Vegas event included Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, who performed a duet with country singer Carrie Underwood, and Rihanna who sung California King Bed with Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles.
Taylor Swift has sold 20 million albums and 33 million singles worldwide.
Taylor Swift released her debut single Tim McGraw in 2006, followed by her self-titled debut album which went multi-platinum. It sold 39,000 copies in its first week.
In 2008, her albums sold four million copies, making her the United States’ best-selling musician of the year.
