Five stations – London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Victoria and Cannon Street – were affected this morning. A spokesman for TFL said that these stations will also be affected on the homeward journey tonight.
“This evening people should allow a little extra time as they will be passed through the crowd management systems we’re putting in place.”
The tests are a drill for the big event as TFL and Network Rail workers plan to seperate Olympics attendees from the normal communters.
However, many commuters were confused and lost by the directions given by staff.
Complaints were made about lack of signposts and directions which led to some finding themselves fighting through crowds heading in the other direction. Metal barriers were set up to filter passengers outside of London Bridge station.
“There was an “Olympic test” at London Bridge today. The test consisted of locking doors and people shouting loudly and incomprehensibly.” said Twitter user Public Benjamin.
