The UK’s most expensive pot of tea is now being sold at the Royal China Club on Baker Street in London – and it’ll set you back a mouth-burning £180 per pot.
The makers of the tea say that the leaves are left to ‘mature’ for 80 years before being served, and they can only be harvested on certain days of the year. Sounds a bit fiddly to us. And it doesn’t even come with a biscuit.
The somewhat-overpriced beverage is served at exactly 95°c, and if you can’t quite stretch to £180, Royal China Club offers a range of 18 different types of artisan teas from different regions in China, starting from £4.80 for two. That sounds a bit more like it.
Personally, we’ll stick with our builders’ tea, but if any of you lot give this a go, we’d love to know what it’s like.
