The beaches
There are no two ways about it — Perth’s beaches are stunning. They’re long, white and sandy, with perfect azure water lapping the shore. Don’t miss Scarborough and Fremantle. The beaches are also ideal for bathing, as offshore Rottnest Island and other reefs block much of the Indian Ocean swell.
The CBD
Small, compact and easy to navigate, Perth’s central business district is worth a stroll, a spot of lunch or a coffee at one of the dozens of bustling cafes.
Freo
Fremantle is Perth’s old port and shipping yard district. It’s been spruced up and is now a vibrant offshoot of the capital city, with funky restaurants, bars, cafes and a cast of alternative characters on the streets.
Swan River
Snaking it’s way from the hills through Perth’s suburbs out to the Pacific Ocean at Fremantle, the Swan is perfect for boating, fishing, or a quiet picnic in a park fronting the scenic waterway.
Perth Hills
Head for the hills for a dash of the country lifestyle, lovely bushwalks and trail riding.
Down the road
Within a few hours drive of Perth are some of Australia’s most stunning beaches, with towns like Dunsborough, Busselton, Yallingup and Margaret River a picture perfect example of the ultimate idyllic Aussie beach lifestyle.
