Bon Jovi (Mercury)

Discussing his band’s eleventh album, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora told Rolling Stone that the group “experimented with a lot of new sounds”. Good luck finding them. The Circle is a straightforward Bon Jovi record, owing more than usual to New Jersey comrade Bruce Springsteen but otherwise awash with all the expected punch-the-air choruses (and, on Work For The Working Man, a bassline more or less nicked from Living On A Prayer).
