The Ritzy
The scene: An iconic Brixton landmark, the Ritzy cinema is one of the best venues in Lambeth. Expect a good selection of house wines, yummy food and a great range of live acts – including reggae, jazz and blues. There’s always a fine range of movies on at the Ritzy, as well as free wifi in the cafe.
The grub: Opt for a pizza, dig into cod and chips or Thai red curry. Most dishes come in at under a tenner.
Behind the bar: A solid choice of wines, with a small glass of crisp house white for £3.60 and the same for the house red. Pints start from £3.20 and there’s a wide range of spirits to choose from as you while away the night listening to live acts.
Bill please: Drinks and snacks for two will leave you with change from £20.
Verdict: A great all rounder – whether it’s to drink, see a gig or before going to a flick.
