After stealing an empty train from a Stockholm depot early one morning, the 22-year-old cleaning lady ended up derailing and crashing into an apartment building.
 
“Travelling at 80 kilometres per hour, it bolted off the tracks when it reached the end of the line and hurtled 25 metres in the snow before crashing to a final halt,” according to train operating company, Arriva.
 
71-year-old Bertil Grandinson who lives on the third storey of the building said, “It sounded like an air-plane crash. I rushed to the window and then I saw the train.”
 
The train reached the end of the track and slammed into a three-storey building but luckily, no one in the building was injured.
 
The renegade driver’s condition however is “serious, but stable”.
 
The train sustained serious damage but hopefully, repairs are full steam ahead!
