According to a post on the NT Police Facebook page, officers pulled the tour bus over on Darwin’s Mitchell Street, the main road in the city.

“One passenger had genuine fears for her safety because of the driver’s aggressiveness and apparent intoxication,” the post said.

“This had come to the attention of other road users as well.

“As the passengers fled to the safety of their hotel rooms, the 45-year-old female driver was subject to a breath test.”

The tour guide was more than four times the legal limit and will appear in court next month.
