According to the Evening Standard, The Met Office recorded more than 42.6mm of rainfall in Northolt, and many local Tube stations, including South Ruislip Station and Ruislip, were closed.
The fire brigade were also called out to rescue people who were trapped in their homes and cars following the floods; it is reported that one woman was rescued from a flooded car that had been close to South Ruislip station.
The deluge also played havoc with this morning’s commute, as many people took their shoes and socks off to wade through rainwater as they made their way to train platforms. The Metroploitan line was suspended between Ruislip and Rayners Lane, and there were delays on the Piccadilly line.
The @piccadillyline Twitter feed has confirmed that Ruislip Manor is closed, and the Metropolitan line feed @metline has tweeted: ‘Aside from planned upgrade works there is a good service operating on the line.’
