Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief executive Gerald Majola on Tuesday dismissed media reports of plans for a Twenty20 (T20) Tri-nations series involving South Africa, Australia and India.
“There are no plans for a Tri-nations series,” said Majola. “I don’t know where those reports came from – just look at our future tours programme and tell me where you could fit in a Tri-nations T20 competition.”
Sport24 reported last week that plans for a T20 competition involving the three countries, starting in 2009, had been discussed at a recent International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in Dubai. The report said “astronomical amounts” would be involved, but that no details were known at this stage.
