The song is a rip-off of Oh, Tonight, by the Josh Abbott Band, with the lyrics changed to reflect the sentiments of a typical 30-something – widely considered the ‘lost generation’- cynical, alienated kids living in the shadow of their Baby Boomer elders.
“Tonight we’re not young, we’re somewhere in our thirties and nothing worth this ain’t fun,” goes the chorus.
It continues: “We’ve accomplished almost nothing, not money, where’s my gun?”
The video has attracted more than 1.3 million viewers in less than 48 hours. We can only assume it’s struck a chord.
