The man, in a white shirt, believed to be David Lawley-Wakelin a film-maker who has worked on Time Team, held on to the judge’s bench as he struggled with security guards and shouted that Blair had been bought by JP Morgan to instigate the war against Iraq.
“This man should be arrested for war crimes,” the protester shouted.
Security guards removed the man from the room. Blair himself seemed fairly unflustered by the intrusion, while Lord Justice Leveson seemed fairly stunned.
Leveson immediately ordered a report into how the man had breached security and managed to gain access to the chamber.
The Guardian’s Alan Rusbridger tweeted that the man had managed to gain access via a secure corridor.
