Beale was named in a 32-man Wallabies squad on Thursday in Australia, in which Matt Toomua – the other option for No 10 – was picked as a centre by Ewen McKenzie.
There were a few surprises in the squad that includes just 13 backs and four debutants – Will Skelton, Luke Jones, Sam Carter and Nathan Charles.
Flanker Matt Hodgson and prop Pek Cowan are back in the Wallabies fold having last pulled on a gold shirt in 2011 while Nick Cummins leads a five-man contingent from the Western Force (the most ever for the club).
Waratah Bernard Foley will likely be Beale’s back-up in the playmaker role.
The Wallabies go into a training camp at Sanctuary Cove on June 1 before the first Test on June 7 in Brisbane.
