A hot Mediterranean weekend of sunshine is forecast for London and guess what; the bank holiday’s going to be warm too!
That’s what we like to hear.
The mini heat-wave will start today and last throughout the weekend, with the mercury hitting 78.8 degrees Fahrenheit (26 degrees Celsius) in parts of central and southern England, according to the Met Office.
However, the Met Office has also warned that there could be storms in some parts of the country.
“High temperatures coupled with humid conditions could trigger an isolated thunderstorm over one or two inland locations,” said the Met’s chief forecaster.
It won’t be too painful going back to work on Monday though, as temperatures are forecast to drop by the end of the weekend and return to the May average of between 59F (15C) and 62.6F (17C) with the possibility of some rain.
However, there’s great news for the May bank holiday as more dry, warm weather is forecast.
