Defender Shannon Cole’s header in the 64th minute secured the win and sets up a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal.

It was all to play for after a scoreless first leg a fortnight ago and Croatian-born midfielder Mateo Poljak put the Wanders in the box seat with the opener in the fourth minute.

With a 1-1 draw not good enough for the Wanderers, with a goal for the Koreans being enough to advance under the away goals rule.

The A-League side, finalists in their first two seasons in the domestic competition, have got there the hard way by beating defending champions Guangzhou in the quarterfinals.

Their two-leg final series begins on October 25 in Western Sydney, with Al Hilal, also through to its first final, hosting the second leg on November 1 in Riyadh.
