The festival’s opening night will be something to remember. It begins with a screening of an internationally acclaimed new film by American Director Paul Thomas Anderson called The Master which will be screened in the historical Turbine Hall. The hall was built in the 1940s for manufacturing turbines for boats has been refurbished into a state of the art cinema. Live music from Arrested Development and a pop up nightclub will ensure the festivities continue long after the film has finished. There’s even a program that supports the future of filmmaking – the Oovie Schools Film Project. This mentorship program for high school students encourages kids to get experiential and create a three-minute short film for the festival. If you love film and you love Sydney this is one not too miss!
