A woman who woke up at her own funeral, died again of heart failure caused by the shock of weeping relatives praying around her open coffin.
When horrified Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov came to, she began screaming when she realised her mourning relatives, filing past her coffin, were about to bury her.
They had been praying for her soul to be taken up to heaven, before Mukhametzyanov, 49, was rushed back to the hospital, in Kazan, Russia, where doctors had declared her dead from a suspected heart attack.
Devastated husband Fagili, 51, said: “Her eyes fluttered and we immediately rushed her back to the hospital.
“But she only lived another 12 minutes before she died again, this time for good.”
Earlier, her husband had been told his wife had died of a heart attack after she’d collapsed at home suffering from chest pains.
Now Fagili plans to sue the hospital.
He said: “I am very angry and want some answers. She wasn’t dead when they said she was and they could have saved her.”
A spokesman at the hospital in Kazan, Russia, said: “We are carrying out an investigation.”
