The woman from Mission Beach in Queensland, woke on Monday to find the 5.2m python stretched out across her lounge and bedroom.
The snake made itself quite at home and managed to turn on a light and knock over a lamp, waking the woman.
The snake has been caught and transferred to a sewage plant, in the hope that it will take care of a rat infestation.
