Sharai Mawera, a local market worker, and her boyfriend, a fisherman, were having sex outdoors in a quiet spot near the northern Zimbabwean town of Kariba when the rogue beast attacked.
Mawera was mauled to death whilst her partner escaped, clad only in a condom.
“Unfortunately the woman was mauled to death by the lion but her boyfriend managed to escape naked,” a source told myzimbabwe.com.
Kariba has been put on full alert by wildlife rangers, who have been distributing fliers warning people to avoid thick vegetation and travelling by foot, according to the AP.
