Former X Factor contestant Katie Waissel has said that she probably won’t stay in touch with Cheryl Cole because she doesn’t have her mobile number.
Although show judge Cole was Katie’s mentor on the X Factor, Katie has told Grazia magazine that she and the pop princess “didn’t have long chats”.
She added: “She was nice but she had her own problems. This show has been tough for her. She’s very focused, which you have to be. I don’t have her mobile number so I don’t know if we will keep in touch. I admire her.”
Katie said that Louis was her favourite judge as he helped her cope with the negative publicity she received during the show.
“He understood how awful it was for me to be painted in a way I could do nothing about,” she said.
Katie received death threats from fans of the show, and she admitted that she is still frightened to get on the tube or go shopping.
Meanwhile the X Factor ‘fix’ row continues as a caption on the ITV website suggests that show chiefs changed last Sunday’s show format at the last minute.
The caption, which was dated December 5, said: ‘The semi-finalists find out the result of the public vote.
“The act with the fewest votes will leave the competition and the others will compete in next week’s final.”
But on last Sunday’s show, Mary Byrne was booted out by judges following a sing-off with Cher Lloyd.
The decision sparked anger from fans of the show who claimed the results broadcast was a ‘fix.’
A spokesman for the channel said that the caption on the ITV Player website was ‘sent in error’ and that the format decision was taken well before Sunday.
ITV added that only public votes will decide who wins this weekend.
