X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has admitted she lost her virginity at the tender, never mind controversial, age of 14.

The N-Dubz singer  told The Sunday Times her teenage years were blighted by fighting, smoking weed, stealing and underage sex.

Now 23, Tulisa said "I smoked weed when I was a kid and got into fights. We did pinch a couple of handbags. I wasn't part of a girl gang, though.”

"We were just a group of troublesome chicks. Obviously, we were consuming so much weed and alcohol, we were going loopy anyway."

Although she wasn’t part of a gang the North London vocalist admitted she carried a knife or baseball bat as self-defence against another girl gang.

She also told the Sunday paper: "By the time I was 15, to go to my friend's house in Kentish Town, I used to walk around with a baseball bat or knife on me, because of fear of being attacked by 15 girls."

She also talked candidly about her friends and how they were sexually active from a young age. Asked when she lost her virginity she said: “I was about to turn 15. I was one of the lucky ones to keep my virginity for as long as I did."

Contostavlos replaced Cheryl Cole on the judging panel for the hit ITV show. She was reportedly chosen for her feistiness and outspoken views but the show’s creator Simon Cowell is likely to take a dim view of her candid comments.
