What will your set next week be all about?

Sarcasm, exaggeration, child rearing, planned engineering works, hens … it’s about all of the usual stuff, really.

Why is sarcasm known as the lowest form of wit?

I have no idea at all why it is considered the lowest form of wit. It’s a national pastime here in the UK. We certainly think we’re good at it!

What’s the best thing about being a stand-up comedian?

The short shifts.

Where was your first gig and how did it go?

It was in a pub in Islington. It went reasonably well, and was enough to get me hooked on stand-up from then on.

What’s the funniest thing you have ever seen?

My three-year-old dancing the robot.

Who is your all-time favourite comedy idol?

Woody Allen.
