London does casinos properly. Not just rows of tables and a bar in the corner, but full nights out. You’ll find places that are loud and packed, others that feel more tucked away. Some you walk into on a whim, others feel like you planned the whole evening around them.

The Hippodrome Casino

Right in the centre of Leicester Square, this one’s hard to miss. The Hippodrome is big and always busy. It’s spread across five floors, so there’s always something happening somewhere.

You’ve got loads of tables including roulette, blackjack, and the only craps tables in central London, as well as slot machines everywhere and a dedicated poker space. Then there’s everything else going on around it. Bars, food, live shows, cabaret. People aren’t just there to gamble.

If you’ve never been to a casino in London before, this is a great starting point. You can try some of the best casino games, wander off for a drink, come back later. No pressure to stay in one spot.

Empire Casino

A couple minutes away, but a different feel. Still busy, just a bit more focused on the gaming side with a bit of a Vegas-style energy.

The Empire Casino is big, loud, and full of options. There are around 50 gaming tables, a dedicated poker room, and over 100 slot machines. You’ve also got multiple bars and an Asian-fusion restaurant in the mix. It can get busy, especially on weekends, but that’s part of the appeal. It never gets dull.

Colony Club

Then you’ve got Mayfair, which is a different pace altogether.

Colony Club is all about exclusivity. It feels more like a private members’ space than a typical casino. Handcrafted furniture, marble, glass, a chandelier canopy. When it comes to the games, you’ve got all the favourites, from blackjack to poker, but the best part here is the private gaming experience. VIP tables, quieter spaces, a more personal feel.

There’s also a restaurant and Teppanyaki bar, so you can take a break with a proper meal without leaving the building.

Palm Beach Casino

The Palm Beach Casino has been around for more than 50 years and it shows in a good way. It’s polished without feeling too stiff, and it found the perfect balance between high-end and welcoming.

There’s a gaming floor with American roulette, blackjack, baccarat, and more, a restaurant led by award-winning Chef Mahmud Zaman, and a bar that feels like somewhere you’d stay for a while. Not just a quick stop between tables.

Genting Casino Stratford

For something bigger, Genting Casino Stratford is worth the trip east. Located inside Westfield Stratford City, it’s actually the largest casino floor in the UK.

There are more than 150 slot machines, loads of table games, and even the country’s biggest poker room. It’s also got a low-stakes zone and £1 live roulette, which makes it a bit more accessible if you’re looking for something more casual.

Add in live music nights and a sports betting shop, and it feels more like a full entertainment venue than just a regular casino.

Final Thoughts

London doesn’t push you into one kind of casino night. You can keep it simple or go all in, stay central or head out a bit. Some nights are about the games, others are more about the atmosphere.

Either way, London makes it easy to find something that fits you.
