Isle of Wight festival

Party on the beach with the Prodigy, champagne garden if you like the fizzy stuff, bohemian woods, a treasure hunt, vintage tea room and if it all gets too much hot tubs and sauna. The festival’s standing is second to none with a peace loving hippie feel reflecting the way it all began in the 1960s.

The UK’s largest metal festival has attracted the likes of Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Metallica over its ten year history. With the event fast approaching, the acts have been booked so you can take a look and really start to plan out your weekend.

Headlining: Marilyn Manson, Kiss, Slipknot, Muse and Enter Shikari.

Acts: Faith no More, Motley Crue, Five Finger Death Pinch, Lamb of God, Billy Ideo and Rise Against.

Barclaycard British Summer Time

Blur will be returning to the stage after 12 years out of the limelight and the most talked about female artist Taylor Swift will be putting in an appearance. The festival goes on all week, so check before booking to make sure you don’t miss your favourite headliner.

When 18-27 June 2015

Headlining: Blur, the Who, Kaiser Chiefs, Paul Wellor, Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones and the Strokes.

Acts: Ellie Goulding, John Newman and Johnny Mar.

Glastonbury festival

Probably the most known and largest greenfield music festival in the World. The festival may have gone conventional, but it’s still worth a trip for the great mix of people and awesome laid back atmosphere. The event organiser Michael Eavis has talked about stopping the event in a few years’ time, so if you want to make history get booked for next year.

Where: Worthy Farm, Glastonbury, Somerset

When: 24 – 28 June 2015

Tickets: If you haven’t got them you won’t be getting hold of them for this year.

Headlining: The Who, Kayne West and Foo Fighters and rumours are abound, but as yet Oasis haven’t confirmed. Even the Dalai Lama is heading to the festival

Acts: Lionel Richie, Twin Hidden, Foo Fighters, Mark Ronson, the Chemical Brothers, Jamie, FKA Twigs, Florence and the Machine, Motorhead, Run the Jewels, Pharrell Williams, the Waterboys, Courtney Barnett, Paul Weller and so many more.

T in the Park

80,000 music lovers will descend on Strathclyde for Scotland’s biggest music event of the year.

Where: Strathallan Castle, Perthshire

When: 9 – 12 July 2015

Headlining: David Guetta, the Prodigy, Kasabian, Sam Smith, the Script and Stereophonics.

Acts: Fatboy Slim, the Wombats, Mark Ronson, Annie Mac, George Ezra, Jessie Ware, Paloma Faith and the Wombats.

V Festvial

V is so popular that it gets spit over two sites, Hyands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in South Staffordshire. They’ve got shot of the beer tokens this year, so just one queue this year not two.

When: 22 – 23 August 2015

Headlining: Calvin Harris, Stereophonics, the Script, Olly Murs, Sam Smith and Kasabian.

Creamfields

This is the ultimate bank holiday party, held every year on the last bank holiday of the summer. Filled with drum and bass, house and dance acts you’ll need to rest after this one.

When: 20 – 30 August 2015

Headlining: Beyond, Avicii, the Chemical Brothers, Steve Angello and Armin van Buuren.

Reading and Leeds

World famous for longevity and its alternative and metal headliners over the years such as Metallica and Eminem.

Where: Reading and Leeds

When: 28 – 30 August 2015

Headlining: Mumford & Sons, Metallica, the Libertines and Batstille

Acts: All Time Low, At the Disco, Neck Deep, the Cribs, Royal Blood, the Maccabees and Gorgon City.

Sundown Festival

A relative infant on the scene compared to some of the other festivals, but great for getting out in the park, putting your feet up and enjoying the tunes. There’s a big top opening party exclusive to campers.

Where: Norfolk Showground, Norwich

When: 4 – 6 August 2015

Tickets: Available on the National Box Office website from £42.35

Headlining: Rudimental, Tinie Tempah, Labrinth, Nero and Sigma.

Acts: Ella Henderson, Fuse ODG, Maverick Sabre, Andy C, DC Breaks, Zinc and Jaguar Skills.

Bestival

Famous for its huge line up including the Chemical Brothers, Primal Scream and Basement Jaxx.

Where: Robin Hill Country Park, Isle of Wight

When: 10 – 13 September 2015

Headlining: The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Duran Duran and Gorgon City.
