Police had an unusually enthusiastic welcome at a pub in the Northern Territory after a horny hens' night party mistook them for strippers.
The officers responded to a disturbance at the Humpty Doo Tavern in Darwin's rural area overnight on Thursday only to find all was quiet, Darwin police have confirmed.
Trying the nearby Humpty Doo Hotel, the officers encountered a group of women celebrating a hens' night.
They were greeted with shouts of glee hailing them as strippers and several of the women made advances towards the offices. They managed to escape wearing their clothes and with dignity intact, police said.
Police made no comment about whether any handcuff were employed in the incident but said no arrests were made.
