Mind manipulator Derren Brown has found his latest show, Apocalypse, coming under scrutiny after accusations that the man at the show's centre, who is convinced by Brown he's the sole survivor of a zombie apocalypse, is in fact an actor.
Derren Brown’s Apocalypse aired on Friday night during which victim Steve Brosnan was convinced by the illusionist Brown that he was the sole survivor of a meteor strike and an ensuing zombie onslaught right out of a horror movie.
Steve was described on the show as being in ‘a dead end job’ but a cursory bit of internet research has revealed that Steve studied acting at college and his Twitter account was also linked to an acting website Casting Call Pro.
A channel four spokesman has countered the accusations, telling The Daily Mail: “Steven is not and never has been a professional actor. He was chosen purely because he fitted the characteristics needed for the show.”
Fans though have been left with mixed feelings about the show, with doubt cast over its veracity.
