Russell Brand will reportedly be charged with destroying a paparazzo's mobile phone.
In March, the British actor and comedian turned himself into police after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was wanted for allegedly snatching an iPhone from a photographer and throwing it through a window while walking down a street in New Orleans.
There were conflicting reports about whether Brand was going to be charged at the time and TMZ is now reporting that police will file papers on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old will be charged with misdemeanour criminal damage, the site claims. If found guilty, the star could be imprisoned for six months.
Brand reportedly readied himself for a legal fight by hiring a top notch lawyer in New Orleans back in March.
It's thought he will claim he was provoked, which is why he launched the phone through the window of a law firm's office causing £170 of damage.
Initially it was thought the actor might face a felony charge, but it's thought the damage to the phone and glass pane wasn't enough for that to be considered.
