A clip of Kiwi sevens star Linda Itunu’s huge hit on Canada’s Mandy Marchak in the Cup Quarter Final in Houston has gone viral.
The smash-tackle went on to set up a turnover followed by a try, but the tackle itself has become something of a viral sensation.
In the clip Itunu, who made headlines last year after giving Prince Charles a bear hug, lines up Canadian centre Mandy Marachak, and absolutely levels her.
Marachak, to her credit, takes the hit like a champ but is pinged, somewhat unfairly, for not releasing the ball.
New Zealand take the quick tap and with Canada's defence in disarray Kayla McAlister, sister of All Black Luke, turns on the afterburners to pierce a hole in the defensive line before streaking away and offering a tidy inside pass to Portia Woodman to touch down under the sticks.
It's a great try but an even better hit, check it out.
